Farm to Institution Metrics - tracking seasonal food in health care

Description

Health Care Without Harm shares the design of Nourished by New England, a seasonal harvest program for health care. They discuss program goals, the way in which progress toward those goals is being measured, and lessons learned from the first year of program implementation and data collection. Lastly, Health Care Without Harm discusses how they are aligning metrics from this regional program with local purchasing programs in other regions.

Presenter Bios

Jennifer Obadia

Jennifer ObadiaFor the last five years Jen has been Health Care Without Harm's Healthy Food in Health Care Program, where she currently serves as the Eastern US Director.  Prior to joining HCWH Jen farmed, managed the Boston Bounty Bucks SNAP incentive program, and served as adjunct faculty at Tufts Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy.  She deeply over-educated with a PhD in Nutrition from Tufts University an MS in conservation biology from the University of Maryland, and a BA in creative writing from NYU.  When she is not working Jen spends much of her time trying to convince her six year old son that vegetables taste good.
